Two special races will take place to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ford Escort. The races on the Indy circuit will be open to a range of race-prepared examples running to period specifications and it is hoped to have a selection of special saloon Escorts on the grid.
Classic Clubmans
These machines are front engine sportscars that have been active in this country since 1965. Despite the relative age of the cars, grid sizes remain large.
Historic Road Sports
Cars from Lotus, Morgan and Alfa Romeo as well as many others compete in a battle for road-legal production Sports and GTs built and raced between 1947 and 1969. Extra points are awarded for driving the car to and from the circuit.
Historic Touring Cars
This championship is for saloon cars that were in production before 1966. Mini Coopers, Ford Anglia, Lotus Cortinas and many other cars will form a packed grid of cars eclectic as they are exciting. Expect to see them sideways from time to time!
70s Road Sports
This series captures the essence of the 1970s with road-legal production and Sports GTs of the era competing for top honours. You can expect to see assorted Porsches, Jaguars and Lancias as well as a variety of other marques battling here.
Classic Formula 3
Between 1971 and 1984 F3 was the ultimate proving ground for drivers including Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet and Jonathan Palmer to prove their single seater credentials. This series is a fitting tribute with Ralts, Chevrons and many other chassis.
Classic Racing Cars
Variety is the name of the game as a myriad of single seaters from the 1960s take to the track. Iconic Lotus and Brabham single seaters from the pre-slicks and wings era compete on a grid that is far flung from contemporary single make series.
Historic Formula Ford
This championship is open to any Formula Ford 1600 car built and raced before 1972. With a complete lack of aerodynamics, much of the speed is down to driver ability. The result is some of the most spectacular driving in historic single seaters.
Historic Formula Ford 2000
This was the slicks and wings alternative to traditional Formula Ford in the 1970s. Tiff Needell, Tommy Byrne and the late David Leslie all cut their teeth in this form of racing and this illustrious past is represented by large grids.
Historic Formula Junior
This was an early proving ground for future stars; existing between 1958 and 1963 this series nurtured the talent of Jim Clark! Despite their age these classically modelled single seaters still provide one of the fullest grids on the historic scene.
Why not make a weekend of it and stay on-site at Brands Hatch? We have a dedicated camping area - just a short stroll from the racetrack.
Ticket holders are welcome to camp free of charge from midday before the first day of the event until midday after the last day of the event, but limited facilities are available.
The campsite opens at midday on the day before the event and closes on midday after the last event day. Please note - limited facilities will be provided during this time.
You are welcome to bring your car or bike onto the campsite with you. Please head to the main entrance on arrival, and you will be directed to the campsite.
Caravans and Motorhomes are permitted and will be directed on arrival at the venue.
There is no shop located on the campsite, but there are supermarkets nearby, including a Co-Op in West Kingsdown (approx 15 minute walk), and our circuit restaurants will be serving hot food, snacks and drinks.
BBQs are permitted as long as they are raised off the ground, but open fires are not permitted. You are welcome to bring your own alcohol too.
Animals are not permitted anywhere on site at Brands Hatch (except Guide/Assistance dogs), including the campsite.
The campsite will offer toilets and drinking water standpipes.
The toilets are cleaned and emptied throughout the weekend. Please help us by keeping them clean and tidy.
Please do not use the surrounding woods or bushes. If you are found doing so, you may be ejected from the campsite and your wristband will be confiscated.
There are plenty of bins provided, which are emptied during the weekend.
Please note - there are no electrical hook-ups available or shower facilities available.
The campsite is located inside the circuit gates, behind the Kentagon restaurant. Head to the main entrance off the A20 (next to the Mercure Hotel) when you arrive.
Please keep noise to a minimum after 23:30. This includes the use of generators wherever possible, particularly if they are portable external units. Any campers that persist in making excessive noise after this time may be evicted from the campsite without refund of ticket fees, or even banned from the venue permanently in extreme cases.
Road-registered vehicles are permitted within the campsites, but scooters and mini-motos are not permitted. Please be considerate of others and keep vehicle movement to a minimum. Sleeping in vans is not advised.
Campers under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an appropriate adult.
Strictly no animals are allowed on site at any time, however Guide/Assistance dogs are permitted when pre-arranged with the venue.
Open fires are not permitted on the campsite (no wood burning). Barbecues are permitted but must be raised off the ground. Please dispose of coals and single use barbecues (once cool) in the metal bins provided.
Never leave a hot stove or barbeque unattended. Keep roadways and fire lanes clear at all times. Store fuel and generators away from ignition sources. Fire extinguishers are located at various fire points around the campsite. Use only in an emergency and raise the alarm immediately.
The campsite speed limit is 10mph. Only drive if strictly necessary and watch for children.
Secure tents and gazebos carefully - always prepare for high winds!
Never use a portable barbeque or gas burner inside a tent, awning or enclosed space (for cooking, or heating when cold). A cooling barbeque can also give off poisonous gas. Never run a generator inside a tent, awning or confined space. Consider purchasing a Carbon Monoxide alarm and use it inside your caravan or motor home if running an installed gas appliance.
Always check your gas cylinder for damage before using. Maintain good ventilation when using portable gas (remember to use it outside only).
Never smoke near any gas cylinder and keep all ignition sources away.
